Most frequent questions and answers

Can you change Owners Corporation Managers at any time ?

Yes, under Section 119 (6) of the Owners Corporation Act 2006, an owners corporation may revoke the appointment of a manager. There may be fees applicable.

Can the committee itself decide to change managers ?

In most cases, the committee is able to decide to change managers without holding a special general meeting via a ballot or committe meeting.

How long does the previous manager have to hand over all the books and records to the new manager ?

Under Section 127 of the Owners Corporation Act 2006, a manager of an owners corporation must, within 28 days of termination of appointment as manager, return to the secretary of the owners corporation all records relating to the owners corporation or funds of the owners corporation held or controlled by the manager.
